Avril Lavinj proslavila se 2003. godine hitom "Komplikejted" i od tada kolaju glasine kako je pevačica preminula i da ju je zamenio klon.

Na društvenim mrežama pojavile su se razne teorije koje su izazvale pravu histeriju među fanovima. 

Po jednoj od njih smatra se da je Avril umrla 2003, kada je trebalo da promoviše pesmu "Komplikejted". Čelnici njene izdavačke kuće su navodno angažovali dvojnicu u te svrhe i tako nizali uspehe. Osoba koja ju je zamenila je glumica Melisi Vandeli. Nju je Avril naučila pevanju. S obzirom na to da su mnogo vremena provodile zajedno, glumica je brzo savladala sve i dugi niz godina je uspešno imitira. 

Podsetimo, Avril od 2014. godine vodi borbu protiv lajmske bolesti.

Perfect timing since we've been receiving an absurd amount of hate just because we've been telling the sheeples what we heard about Avril….. So here's the story. Avril Lavigne died after the release of her first album and was replaced by a look a like or possible clone named Melissa Vandella. What we think is that Avril actually died after her second album. This is because her first two albums are very similar. They're the typical tomboy/punk Avril from the early 2000s that most people remember. Then in 2007 when her third album came out, she was a lot more feminine. She was still punk but her hair was blonde with pink streaks and she started wearing skirts! Very unlike Avril, perhaps that was when Melissa took over. If you're wondering how Avril died, it's a dark story. It's believed that she was severely depressed over the death of grandfather, whom she was very close with, so she killed herself. Avril is not the only celebrity that people have thought this happened to. Everytime it happens everyone asks the same question. "Why would her family allow her record label to replace her and pretend she's still alive?" There's a pretty simple answer. In Hollywood, there are all kinds of contracts that we don't even know about. People basically sign their lives away so that they can be famous singers/musicians. If Avril signed a contract before her death, her family might not have had any control over what her record label does. It's almost like these labels own their artists. If Avril is their property then they can do whatever they want, including replace her with a lookalike so they can continue her career and continue making money!! You may be wondering, where's the proof? Other than the obvious artistic differences between Avril and Melissa, Avril was once asked about the conspiracy in an interview. She obviously dodged the question, acting as if it was some ridiculous theory. But that night at her concert, she messed up on stage!!! Why? Because she realized everyone was onto her and she got nervous!!!
